Who are the GPC-GB?

The GPC-GB was formed in 2008 by Lee Marshall, for British lifters who wanted to compete in GPC international competitions.

In the UK, led by your President, Lee Marshall and supported by your Vice President Chris Derrick, your GPC-GB  committee works to promote powerlifting in Britain, all aspects of lifting are catered for from Raw to Equipped plus single lifts.

We hold competitions across the country ranging from the South, Midlands and North of England and in to Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland.

These competitions cater for all levels, from novices to world Champions. Our competitions are run and promoted by some of the countries/Worlds best lifters including Lee Marshall, Chris Pugh, Chris & Jeri Derrick. Just to name a few!

In recent years we have had some great international success at GPC European & World Championships, with many individual and team titles in both the Raw & Equipped divisions. In 2015 we promoted our biggest and best ever British Finals, with over 175 lifters over 2 days of competition.

The committee has seen the number of British lifters wanting to lift in the GPC-GB increase year on year, more and more or our lifters are wanting to represent Team GB in GPC International competitions.

The GPC-GB is becoming one of the fastest growing federations in the UK, backed by a vibrant and growing World federation (GPC) who has 29 affiliated countries plus individual lifters from 5 other countries. This is echoed in the UK with our membership growing to 400 members, of whom 100 were women.

We look forward to seeing many new lifters joining and enjoying lifting in the GPC-GB alongside our current members, we will be here to help and guide you in any way we can.
